Canine Behaviour
Dog behaviour is complex, we help you understand it and manage it with confidence
Influenced by emotions, environment, genetics, learning history, and the everyday pressures our dogs navigate. From reactivity and frustration to fear, anxiety, and overwhelm, these behaviours are communication, not disobedience. Our bespoke 1:1 training programmes are designed to help you understand what’s driving your dog’s behaviour and give you practical, welfare‑led strategies to manage and improve it with clarity, compassion, and confidence

Reactivity
Reactivity can stem from many emotions, excitement, fear, frustration, uncertainty, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the world. It’s a communication strategy, not a character flaw, and every reactive dog deserves understanding rather than judgement. Because behaviour and pain are so closely linked, we always recommend a full health and pain check with your vet before training begins. With that foundation in place, we can work together to support your dog with calm, compassionate, welfare‑led strategies that help them feel safer and more in control.
Car Chasing
Car chasing is a surprisingly common behaviour, especially in herding breeds like collies whose instincts make fast moving objects incredibly hard to ignore. What looks like “naughtiness” is often a mix of genetics, emotion, and overwhelm, and it can quickly become a stressful cycle for both dog and guardian. We approach this complex behaviour with care, working to understand what’s driving the response and helping your dog build safer, calmer alternatives through structured support, emotional regulation, and gradual real world practice.

Multispecies Home
Living in a multispecies household can be wonderful, but it isn’t always simple, and if the relationship between your dog and your cat could be better, you’re definitely not alone. Trust me, I know how stressful it can feel when tensions rise, boundaries are unclear, or one animal is a little too interested in the other. These situations are rarely about “bad behaviour”; they’re about communication, confidence, safety, and unmet needs on both sides. With calm, structured support, we can help your dog and cat feel more secure, reduce chasing or over‑arousal, and rebuild trust so your home feels peaceful again for everyone.
Jumping Up
Jumping up is one of those behaviours that feels adorable in a tiny puppy and suddenly becomes a whole different story once adolescence hits. It’s incredibly common, and not a sign of a “naughty” dog at all. In most cases, it’s something we unintentionally reinforced early on, because who doesn’t melt when a small puppy bounces up for affection? Over time, though, the dog learns a simple equation: jumping = attention. Whether that attention is cuddles, laughter, or even being pushed away, it still counts. The behaviour and the outcome become tightly linked, and as they grow, the habit grows with them.
